Martin Woods has a wealth of experience as a detective who once investigated financial crimes, including global frauds and money laundering. Upon leaving the police service he embarked upon a career as a senior financial crime compliance officer, working for and with a wide variety of firms all over the world. He has provided training to regulators, central banks, law enforcement agencies and regulated firms and has been called upon to provide expertise as well as guidance. He has been highly commended by regulators and is passionate about empowering people to fight financial crime.
He advocates we are all here to Make A Difference and he is always on the look out for those who may want to join his MAD – Make A Difference revolution. He prides himself as an enemy of the money launderer, the fraudster and the terrorist, who uses training to equip, inspire and motivate others.
Miranda Patrucic joined OCCRP in 2006 and was promoted to editor-in-chief in 2023. She oversees editorial operations for OCCRP’s global newsroom, including 50+ editors across six continents and the production of OCCRP’s investigations and content.
I’m a C-level executive with nearly 20 years of experience in organisational change, regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering and financial crime prevention. Having worked on various remediation and transformation projects (i.e., 166 Skilled Persons Reviews) in private, commercial and investment banking, the insurance industry and the consulting sector, I understand what regulators expect and how this can be done in practice.
Nick Mathiason has been a business and finance journalist for 30 years and has broken a sizeable number of impactful stories that have had international prominence. Subjects investigated include developing countries' access to medicine, vulture funds, labour issues and the growth of private equity. One of the first UK journalists to report on industrial-scale tax avoidance, in 2012, Nick founded and today co-directs Finance Uncovered.
