The Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) is a key regional body dedicated to enhancing anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT) frameworks across the Asia-Pacific. Established in 1997, the APG is part of a broader global network of Financial Action Task Force-Style Regional Bodies (FSRBs) that work in coordination with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to ensure strong financial crime prevention measures.

As the largest FSRB in terms of membership and geographical coverage, the APG plays a crucial role in helping jurisdictions implement and strengthen AML/CFT policies. It conducts mutual evaluations, provides technical assistance, and facilitates collaboration among member states. The organisation is also supported by prominent international institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, OECD, INTERPOL, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), which contribute expertise and resources to APG initiatives.

Through its extensive network of members and observers, the APG continues to shape AML/CFT policies in the region, ensuring that financial systems remain resilient against illicit activities. By working closely with global stakeholders, the group fosters regulatory improvements that align with international best practices.
